Lesson 04

The path ahead

Tarot first. Then looking. Then layers. Then intuition. Then reading.

Observe first. Interpret second. Research third.

Tarot first. Then looking. Then layers. Then intuition. Then reading.

That is the path. I am laying it out now so you know why we do not start with a mysterious stare at a card you cannot yet name.

Why the order is the Method

If you learn looking before you learn the deck, you will describe rain and miss that you are in Swords. If you learn intuition before you can recognise a court card, you will call every feeling a message. If you jump to spreads before you know how a suit speaks, you will invent a novel and call it a reading.

We build. The foundation is tarot. Everything else sits on it.

What you will walk

First you learn tarot. What it is. What a deck is. The seventy-eight as architecture. Majors, Minors, four suits with their elements, numbers as a developing story, court cards as people and parts and behaviour. How to handle a deck. Traditional meaning as a foundation you will build on, not abandon.

Then the Fool's Story. The Major Arcana as a connected sequence. Why the Fool is zero. Why the order matters. How the map helps you understand one card without forcing a life plot onto every querent.

Then the seventy-eight cards, properly. How to study a card. Each Major. Each suit, Ace through King. Then the skill of putting the deck together: number plus suit plus image, so an unread card is not a stranger.

Then looking. Observe first. Interpret second. Research third. Description before meaning. Colour, body, landscape, architecture, light, absence, patterns. Looking as a skill, because by then you know what you are looking at.

Then the other languages, used as layers, never as a trump card over the image. Numbers and numerology. Astrology. Angel numbers. Universal Laws. Chakras and body awareness.

Then you. Energy, meditation, cleansing, protection, boundaries. Then intuition: how it actually presents, and how to tell it from fear, anxiety, wishful thinking and projection.

Then card energy, light and shadow. Then combinations, questions and spreads. Then a complete reading, spoken responsibly. Then practice, review, and your own voice.

Looking is coming. Not yet.

I know some of you want the observation work now. It is one of the hearts of this Method. You will get it as a full training, with exercises that point at real cards, once those cards are in your hands as knowledge, not as strangers.

Until then, if you pull a card, you may look. Of course you may look. I am asking you not to mistake a first glance for the skill we will train later, and not to skip the structure because looking feels more magical.

Where this is going

A few modules from now you will be able to pick up a card you have not drilled that week and still have a way in. Suit. Number. Image. Traditional note. Then your eyes. Then whatever else is actually speaking.

That is a reader. A reader is not someone who has memorised a poster. A reader is someone who can meet an unread card and still stand.

Activity

Name the next step

Look at the path. Where are you tempted to jump ahead? Write that down. Then write the next module you are actually going to open. If you are new, it is Learn Tarot. If you already know a deck, it is still Learn Tarot, because I want you in this house, not the last one you visited.

Practice

Go to the cards

Open Learn Tarot and start with What tarot is. That is the next real work. You can peek at the Practice Room after, but do not camp there yet. Learn what you are holding.

Reflection

What in you resists learning the cards before you get to the intuitive work? Name it without dressing it up.
