Numbers beside tarot and other signs
Observe first. Interpret second. Research third.
A number beside a tarot card is a conversation, not a separate oracle having a row in the hallway.
Other signs work the same way. A song, a feather, a coincidence. Context. Discernment. Not a scavenger hunt that proves you are special.
Let them speak together
You pull a card and the time is 22:22. Fine. Do not throw the card away and worship the clock. Do not ignore the clock either.
Ask whether the number is emphasising something already on the table. A repeating two beside a Two in the spread is different from a random number that has nothing to do with the cards. Emphasis is interesting. A stray is often just a clock.
If you work with other signs, use the same rule you use for astrology: only what is actually speaking. A white feather on a grief day may belong. A white feather because you have started a collection and now you see them everywhere may be attention, not a message. Both are worth noticing. Only one is a conversation with the reading.
A two that agrees, a two that does not
Two of Swords on the table. 222 on the clock. You might reasonably ask: is this the stalemate insisting? Take the blindfold off. That is a conversation.
Two of Swords on the table. 777 on a receipt. Seven as inner test might add a layer if the question is already about seeking. Or it might be a receipt. If you have to stretch, it is a receipt.

Card and number
If a number has been following you, pull one card for it. Look at the card first, full Method. Then ask what the number adds. Write one reading, not two. If the number adds nothing, say so. Put both in the journal.
