When numbers meet tarot

Number: what quantity and stage of life is this?

Suit: what field is it happening in? Will and heat. Feeling. Thought and truth. Body, work, money, home.

Image: what is actually drawn? Faces, weather, objects, what is missing.

If you add a keyword for the number to a keyword for the suit, you will get a slogan, not a reading. The image is where the sentence becomes true.

Number three: expression, first harvest, something made visible. A third thing has entered. It is no longer private.

Suit of Swords: air, thought, truth, conflict, words, cutting.

Image: a heart, three swords through it, rain, grey cloud, no person standing in the weather. The harvest that is visible is pain, or a truth that has landed in the body.

Light: finally telling the truth, finally grieving, letting the rain do its job. Shadow: rehearsing the wound, three stabs instead of one honest cut, refusing to come in. Traditional heartbreak may be exactly right. Or the three may be three truths. The number started the job. It did not finish it.

Same number: expression, gathering, first harvest of feeling.

Suit of Cups: water, emotion, relationship, joy, bond.

Image: three figures, fruit, raised cups, a dance. The harvest that is visible is shared feeling.

Light: chosen company, a rite, joy that is real. Shadow: the party as avoidance, three against one, performing happiness so nobody asks the real question. If you kept three equals creativity you might get lucky here. You would still have missed the water.

Same number: the first harvest of a beginning, looking outward now.

Suit of Wands: fire, will, appetite, the thing you sent out.

Image: a figure, a vantage, ships on water, wands planted like a claim. The harvest is vision with a foothold, not a party and not a funeral.

Light: expansion that has already begun, patience with what you launched. Shadow: waiting forever for ships, restlessness that will not tend what is already on the water. Three as expression here is a horizon, not a heart.

Same number: expression as work that can be seen, a third that makes the work possible.

Suit of Pentacles: earth, craft, skill, the built world, other people's standards.

Image: three figures at a building, a plan, a bench of skill. The harvest is collaboration and competence.

Light: craft honoured, teamwork, a job that needs more than one pair of hands. Shadow: approval-seeking, performing skill for the bench, a third opinion that runs the show. Creativity might visit. It is not the caption. Work is.

You do not need to have memorised the Seven of Pentacles to begin. Seven: inner test, assessment, pause that is not always rest. Pentacles: work, time, crop, body, money. Image: a person leaning on a staff, looking at fruit not yet ready. Sentence: the test is whether you can let earth take the time it takes.

Then you look at the question. Then you look at the cards beside it. Then you check a traditional note so you have not wandered off. That is number plus suit plus image, inside the Method. Observe first. Interpret second. Research third.
