Lesson 02
How to use this training space
Observe first. Interpret second. Research third.
This school is a loop, not a pile of articles. You read a little. You look. You write. You come back.
If you only consume lessons, you will sound like a lesson. If you only pull cards with no study, you will stay vague. We use both.
The rooms, and how they talk
The Course is where I teach. Work through it in order. The Method, then the deck, then the Fool's Story, then the seventy-eight cards, then looking, then the other languages, then reading. You can wander if something is calling you. I will not be precious. I will be honest though: the order exists because each piece sits on the one before it.
The Practice Room is where you actually learn. Draw a card. Sit with it. Write messy notes. Get it wrong. Get it honest. A lesson without practice is a nice afternoon.
Reading and Spreads is where you practise real layouts. You pick the cards you pulled. I will not hand you a finished reading. I will walk you through questions until you can hear yourself.
The Tarot Library is for looking at a card again, and for the traditional layer once it is written. Use it as a house you return to, not as a vending machine for captions.
The Spiritual Library holds the other languages we use later. Numbers, laws, energy, astrology, chakras. Same rule. A layer, not a replacement for the card.
The journal is yours. Observations, impressions, readings, patterns. If you do not write, you will not know what you have learned. You will only know what you have read.
One loop
A good week in this school looks like this. One lesson. One card in the Practice Room. A few honest lines in the journal. If a spread is asking, take it to Reading and Spreads. Then come back.
You do not need a four-hour ritual. You need repetition. Tarot is a language. Languages want use, not a perfect study plan you abandon on Thursday.
Practise with real people
You are welcome in the MoonMagicx Tarot Facebook Group. Practise with actual humans. Bring a question. Be kind. Listen as much as you speak. Reading in private is necessary. Reading in company is how you find out whether you can say a thing clearly.
Once a month I hold a free practice session. The date and time sit in the Practice Room. When I set the next one, it will be there. Bring a deck and a bit of courage.
What an hour can look like
Twenty minutes on today's lesson. Ten minutes shuffling and pulling one card, writing what you already know about it and what you do not. Ten minutes in the journal. That is an hour with tea, and it will beat a weekend binge you never repeat.
If you only have fifteen minutes, pull the card and write three lines. Keep the streak. The Method is built in the small returns.
Activity
Your rhythm this week
How will you actually use this school this week? Name one lesson, one practice, and when you will sit down. Write something you will keep, not a fantasy timetable.
Practice
Walk the rooms once
Open the Practice Room and draw a card without studying it. Open your journal and date a page. Then come back here. You have just used the loop. That is the training.
