Mars

Heat, anger, drive, the fight in the body. A clean yes and a clean no.

Mars is the will to act. Courage, conflict, appetite that moves the limbs. Not a hobby of war.

What this is

Drive, heat, anger, desire that will not sit still, the cut that starts something. A common map sits Mars with The Tower, and with Aries weather, and sometimes with Scorpio as a deeper heat. Strike, necessary break, blood in the boundary.

Why it matters

Without Mars a reading has no go. With only Mars a reading only knows how to cut. Readers need heat they can aim.

How to recognise it

Lightning, armour, a raised wand, a ram, a blade in use, a body leaning in, a question about anger, sex, or a fight you will not name.

How to use it

Ask where the heat is going. Useful if it helps you feel suddenness and a necessary break. Not useful if you recite a placement and stop looking at the picture. The planet is a flavour. The card is still a picture.

Light

Courage. A clean no and a clean go. Heat that does a job. Desire with a spine. A boundary with blood in it, meaning you mean it.

Shadow

Cruelty. Haste. Conflict as a hobby. War in the kitchen. Heat that only knows how to cut. Performing toughness so you never feel.

Example

The Tower. A common Mars link: heat, strike, the thing that will not stay standing. Useful if it helps you feel the necessary break. Not useful if you stop looking at the lightning, the crown, the people in the air, the question.

Practice

Where the heat goes

Pull a card. Write the Mars-like quality in plain language: drive, anger, go, fight. Then write whether that heat is doing a job or picking a hobby. Point to the image.

Reflection

Do you aim your heat, or do you either swallow it or swing it at the nearest room?
