The Sun

Life-force, visibility, the centre of a story. Warmth, and glare.

A planet, in this old language, is a kind of action in a life. The Sun is what is lit. You do not need a chart to use the quality.

What this is

Identity, vitality, what wants to be seen, the self at the centre of a day. A common tarot map sits the Sun with The Sun card, and with Leo weather. That is a thinking tool, not my invention.

Why it matters

If you cannot name what is in the light, you will read a performance of being fine as health, or you will hide a true centre because shine feels dangerous.

How to recognise it

Solar discs, gold, a child, a clear sky, a figure facing out, pride in the chest, a question about being seen. Also: a reading that keeps making everything about one person's glow.

How to use it

Ask what is being lit, and whether that light is warmth or glare. Say it in English: centre, vitality, visibility. If you cannot say the quality without the planet's name, you do not need the planet in this reading.

Light

Warmth. A clear identity. Life-force that can play. Honesty about what is actually in the middle of the story.

Shadow

Glare. Ego as the only lamp. A performance of being fine. Making every spread about the shine.

Example

The Sun beside Two of Swords. Expansion and warmth next to a blindfold. The Sun may be what is available when the cloth comes off, or the Two may be how someone hides from the glare. The quality talks. The picture still leads.

Practice

Say it without the name

Pull The Sun or any card that feels lit. Write the solar quality in five lines without saying Sun or Leo. Keep the lines that came from the image.

Reflection

Where do you hide from being seen, and where do you glare so nobody can look back?
