Cleansing
Crystals as a clear
In this school a crystal is optional. A weight on the table so you stay in the room. A thing you can hold so your hands remember you have a body. It is not a requirement, and it is not a personality.
What this is
Using a stone as a physical cue for clearing and closing. Traditional maps give different jobs to different stones. Treat those maps as maps. You may read perfectly well with no stones at all.
Why it matters
Hands need something to do. A cool weight can bring you back. That is the useful core. Shopping as spirituality is the shadow.
How to recognise it
You will know it is a tool if you can also clear without it. You will know it is a prop if you cannot shuffle when the stone is in a drawer.
How to use it
Hold it. Feel the weight. Put it where you can see it. After, rest it if that is your habit. A deck needs a dry, respectful place more than it needs a crystal bed. Do not soak cards. Look up whether a stone can take water before you rinse it. Selenite, for one, often cannot.
Light
A doorbell back to the body. A simple stand-in. One stone you actually use.
Shadow
A shelf of stones instead of a close. Using a rock instead of saying no. Superstition you cannot read without.
Example
You rest a piece of clear quartz near the deck while you tidy and wash your hands. The stone is a reminder, not the method. The method is the attention.
Practice
With, then without
If you own a stone, use it once as a cue: hold, look, put down, then one card. Another day, put it in a drawer and do the same clear with hands and a window. Write whether the looking changed.
