Spiritual Library/Cleansing

Cleansing

Fresh air

A window. A door. A walk. Rooms have weather. Air is not lesser magic. It is the work.

Open a window. That is already a clear. You are not failing as a reader if that is all you do.

What this is

Moving the air in the room, and moving your body through air. Stuffy is not a haunting. Loud is not a visitation. Ordinary care of a space is energy work.

Why it matters

A thick room will dump itself onto a spread. A walk after a reading is how some people close. You do not need incense to notice a kitchen is loud or a bedroom is thick.

How to recognise it

Can you breathe. Can you hear yourself. Is the table visible. If not, air first. If a public room is all you have, use a smaller spread and a harder close.

How to use it

Window before. Window after. A loop around the block when a story sticks. Name three ordinary objects when you come back. You are here.

Light

A room that lets you look. A body that has moved. Weather you can tell from a card.

Shadow

Deciding the house is haunted instead of stuffy. Performing a temple in a room you will not even air. Avoiding the walk because it is not mystical enough.

Example

You were about to call the room heavy in a spiritual voice. You opened the window. The heavy left with the stale air. Then you pulled a card and it was still a Three of Swords. Good: you can tell the room from the table.

Practice

Room, then card

Write three words for the room. Open a window or step outside for one minute. Write three words again. Then pull one card and write three words for the card. Ask whether you were about to read the room onto the table.

Open the practice

Reflection

When a space feels thick, do you reach for a story, or for a window?
