Cleansing

Visualisation and intention

A picture in the mind, a sentence in the mouth. Plain. If it scares you, it is the wrong picture.

Intention is: I will look honestly. I will stop when it is done. Visualisation is an inner picture that helps that happen. Keep both ordinary.

What this is

A sentence that starts or ends the work. A simple image: light through a room, a window opening, a cloth shaking out, water over hands. Not a war. Not a special-effects reel.

Why it matters

The mind believes edges. A sentence trains you to start and stop. If the image becomes a ritual you are scared to skip, it has turned into fear, and fear is not clearing.

How to recognise it

You will actually say it when you are tired. You will not feel silly enough to skip it, and not grand enough to perform it. That middle is the method.

How to use it

Open: I am here, this is the question, I will look honestly. Close: this is the reading, I am putting the cards away, I am back in the room. If a picture helps, keep it plain. If it scares you, choose a mug, a door, a coat you can take off.

Light

A container you will really use. Words that match your mouth. An image that returns you to your feet.

Shadow

Theatre. A script so long you never begin. Images of battle. Intention as a way to skip looking. Closing words you do not mean.

Example

You imagine a closed door after a reading for someone else, then you actually close the door of the room and wash a mug. Inner picture plus ordinary act. That is the pair.

Practice

Two sentences you will say

Write two or three sentences to open, two or three to close. No theatre you will feel silly saying. Use them around one card today. Then write whether you arrived and whether you left.

Reflection

What picture of clearing did you inherit that still scares you, and what ordinary image could replace it?
