The teaching
Eight is an engine. Strength as eight, force with gentleness. Eight of Wands, speed. Eight of Swords, binding. Eight of Pentacles, craft. Eight of Cups, walking away from what used to be enough.
Light: mastery, momentum, a skill you can trust, a leaving that is grown, power used kindly.
Shadow: the mill, busyness as identity, binding yourself with old stories, movement that will not stop long enough to feel. Eight can grind.
How to use it: feel the engine. Is it carrying you or eating you? In advice, eight may be practise, or put the tools down, or walk. The suit and the body of the figure decide.
Discernment: eight is not a status symbol. It is work, motion, or power. Ask which, then ask for whom.
