The teaching
Nine is fullness before the ten. Hermit as nine, a lantern at the far end of a path. Nine of Cups, the wish displayed. Nine of Pentacles, enough in a garden. Nine of Swords, the night mind. Nine of Wands, the last watch.
Light: a harvest you can stand in, a solitude that is chosen, resilience, a wish that is honest.
Shadow: exhaustion, anxiety as a room you live in, self-sufficiency that will not let anyone in, a wish that is a display rather than a life. Nine can be too much of itself.
How to use it: notice the fullness. Is it ripe, or is it swollen? Nines often need completion or rest, not another project. Look at whether the figure can put anything down.
Discernment: nine is not the wish card as a vending machine. Nine of Cups can be satisfaction or smugness. The face and the question decide.
