Pisces

Pisces, in this old language, is a style: water that dissolves. Two fish. Dream. Mercy. The blur between you and the rest. Not a floaty costume. A way an action can wear compassion and a tide.

You will meet it in art, prayer, a kindness with no invoice, a film that unhooks a jaw. You will also meet it in a fog that comes with the gift of feeling everything. Style. Not a prison.

Pisces is mutable water in the common teaching map. Mutable adapts. It changes form. It prepares the next season. Water is feeling, bond, dream, memory, the tide. Put them together and you get feeling that changes shape. Two fish pulling. Mercy as movement. A boundary that is a shoreline, or a shoreline that went missing.

Adapt-by-dissolving can be compassion. It can also be a blur so you never have to choose. If the image is a ram, do not invent a mist.

Fog. Overexpression: no edges, saving everyone, glamour as a lie. Avoidance: numbing, drifting, waiting for a sign so you never have to choose. Confusion worn as a mystic costume. A room where everyone is a little unwell and calling it intuition.

A common correspondence links Pisces with The Moon. Tide, dream, compassion, dissolve, two fish pulling, the gift of feeling everything, the fog that comes with that gift. That is a traditional teaching map with this deck. Use it when the crayfish and the pool are actually the point: something climbing out of feeling into a path, sideways, armoured, brave in a small way. If Pisces would only be watery personality, skip it.

Pisces can also visit The Star as hope-water, The Hanged Man as yield, the Two of Cups when the blur is love, the Seven of Cups as a dream with too many doors. Jupiter is the traditional ruler in the old map. Neptune is the modern one. If a planet is already naming expand or dissolve, you may not need the two fish as well.

Leave it when you would use Pisces to sound poetic. Leave it when the card is a job, a bill, a clean no, and you are dragging a tide onto it. Leave it if mercy would only mean having no boundary. If you cannot see dream, dissolve, or a fish-pull, the sign is not speaking. Mystery as a hiding place is still hiding.
