The signs, one by one

Open a sign. Read it as a style an action can wear, not as a person you can diagnose. Learn the element and the modality until you can feel climate and movement without a chart. Then sit with the example card. Then try the quality on a card that is not the famous match.

If a querent is a Taurus, that does not mean The Hierophant is about them. If a card is linked with a sign, that does not mean you should mention the sign. You mention it when the style is actually on the table and the image will carry it.

Write the style in ordinary English. If you can only remember a newspaper column, you are not ready to speak it over someone else's life. That is not a fail. It is a stop sign.

Element is the climate: fire, earth, air, water. Modality is how it moves: cardinal starts, fixed holds, mutable changes form. Together they are often more useful than the sign name. You can see them in a picture without a correspondence list.

If you take nothing else from a seat, take those two. Aries as cardinal fire. Taurus as fixed earth. And so on. Then look. If the image argues with the map, the image wins.

A sign is not a person. It is not a verdict. It is not a dating profile. It is a style of energy that can visit a card, a question, a week. Then it can leave.

Shadow of a sign is imbalance, avoidance, overexpression. It is not bad. The ram that only knows how to shove is still a start. The fish that will not come ashore are still mercy. Volume and direction. Not a naughty list.
