Cleansing

Moonlight

A night on a windowsill. Rest, not a spell you missed. You can read on any day.

Moonlight as rest is fine. It is a night of quiet light, not a law. Superstition is what happens when a cycle is frozen into you must, or you must not.

What this is

Leaving a deck or a stone where night light can touch it, or simply noticing the moon while you close. A traditional map loves this as charging or blessing. In this school it is rest. The cards did not clock off because the moon is empty or loud.

Why it matters

Because rest is a clear. Because people miss the new moon and decide the month is ruined. Rhythm is a layer. It is not a bouncer at the door of the Practice Room.

How to recognise it

Useful if a night by the window actually feels like putting the work down. Not useful if you cannot shuffle until an app says so. Do not leave cards on a wet sill.

How to use it

If you like, rest the deck overnight in a dry, safe place with a view of the sky. In the morning, pick it up and read if you have a question. Any day. Mention the phase only if it adds a sentence.

Light

Rest. A cycle noticed. Tools treated as companions, then used again without fuss.

Shadow

Missing a date and calling the work void. Wet cards. Outsourcing your will to a phase. Moonlight as the only clear you will accept.

Example

Full moon, a loud mood, you rest the deck on a dry table by the window and go to bed. In the morning you read anyway, because the question is still here. The night was rest. It was not a spell you could fail.

Practice

Rest, then read any day

Tonight, put the deck in a dry, respectful place. If the moon is visible, notice it. Tomorrow, pull one card on a real question without waiting for a phase. Write whether rest changed the looking.

Reflection

Have you been treating moonlight as a rule, and what would change if it were only rest?
