The teaching
Four wants stability. Emperor, four legs of a throne. Four of Swords, rest in a stone room. Four of Pentacles, holding on. Four of Wands, a threshold worth marking.
Light: a structure that lets life happen. Rest that restores. A home, a boundary, a calendar, a body that has somewhere to sit.
Shadow: a box. Control. Rest that is a hiding place. Security that has become a cage. Four of Pentacles clutching until nothing can move.
How to use it: ask what the structure is doing. In advice, four may be build it, or put it down and sleep. In challenge, four may be the wall. Position decides.
Discernment: four is not boring, and it is not safety as a promise. Look at whether the walls have a door.
